Making a booking with Slow-Chic

How does the reservation system work?

Making a booking with Slow-Chic is easy. All you need to do is:

  1. type in your intended dates;
  2. select a hotel and room type;
  3. enter any special requests for the hotel (optional)
  4. enter your personal details;
  5. confirm.

Will I receive written confirmation of my reservation?

Yes. You will receive a confirmation e-mail summarising all of your booking details, along with your unique booking reference number.

Can I contact you if there is a problem with my booking?

Of course! You will find our contact details in the contact us section. We will get back to you within twenty-four hours, although usually much faster. To cancel an existing reservation, simply click on the "My Reservations" link on top right of your screen and follow the instructions.

What are the cancellation policies?

Our general cancellation policy allows you to cancel, with no penalty, up to five days prior to your arrival date. Specific offers, or particular hotels, have a more restrictive cancellation policy. You will find the booking and cancellation policy for each hotel at the end of its description, and these will appear again throughout the booking process.

Why isn't it cheaper or better to book directly with the hotel?

You will always find the best available rate on Slow-Chic. Also, as we have a very select range of hotels, we have the time to build up a personal relationship with all of them. This relationship means that we can offer special packages that you will not find by any other means.
What's more, our targeted collection of boutique hotels aggregates a community of discerning travellers that are truly valued by the hoteliers – often resulting in small attentions and the little extras from the hotelier that transform your entire stay.

Payment

When do I supply my credit card details?

During the online booking process, we ask you to enter your credit card details to guarantee your reservation. Unless otherwise stated, no charge will be made to this card. It will serve as a guarantee for the hotelier in case of late cancellation or no-show.

What forms of payment are accepted?

A Mastercard or Visa credit card is required to guarantee your reservation. When you come to pay the bill at your hotel you can either use the same card, or any other form of payment accepted by the hotel. If you wish to use the same Mastercard or Visa credit card as that which you used to make your reservation, you will need to present it at the hotel when you go to settle your bill.

Who has access to my credit card details?

When you make your online booking, you are asked to enter your credit card details to guarantee your reservation. This credit card information is transmitted securely to the hotel, using the latest SSL encryption technology from Thawke. Only the hotel will be able to access this information.
Our booking engine is PCI (Security Standards Council) compliant.

To whom do I make the payment?

You make the payment for your stay directly to the hotel. In most cases you will make your payment when you check out. Please check the tariff description at the time of booking to ensure that you are clear on any possible specific terms and conditions of payment. We do not make any booking charges online: Slow-Chic is a completely free service.
