Flavia and Jose de Mello – respectively Brazilian and Portuguese – and owners of the neighbor Hotel des Isles bought this 19th Century Norman residence in Barneville-Carteret back in 2004 and eventually converted it in the cosy boutique Hotel des Ormes.

The location. The Hotel des Ormes is on a waterfront marina, with the harbour village of Carteret on one side and the historical center of Barneville on the other, while the immense beaches of the Cotentin peninsula are just minutes away.
Rooms: 9 rooms spread through the main house, garden view or marina view, and 3 larger rooms in the seaside cottage “Le Rivage” closer to the small harbour.
Bar: Yes – a very cosy one with an adjoining library.
Restaurant: Think fish, fresh from the harbour and gorgeous waterfront location (closed from sunday evening to tuesday noon
and from January 2nd to February 4th 2018).
