The food at Le Mas de Peint. Meals are served at just a few intimate tables in a large country kitchen in front of an open fireplace under 19th-Century beams, or on the garden terrace shaded by billowing white gauze. Menu is set and changes daily, it features sophisticated specialities that mostly rely on home-grown ingredients, such as roast beef from the farm’s own herd with Carmargue red rice and onion jam or excellent poultry and fresh fish dishes – all cooked in front of the guests.
Rooms: The 11 rooms and suites have beautifully preserved 400-year-old beams, carefully polished stone floors, and creamy linen fabrics all tastefully complemented by brass beds, claw-foot bathtubs, and natural, soft Provençal colours. Le Pigeonnier is the largest of all and spreads over two floors with a fireplace in the lounge, which opens out onto the garden.
Bar & Restaurant: Yes, that’s the best bit!
